Adrian J. Wiggins has been the Chief of Police and Public Safety at Morgan State University since the fall of 2005, where he leads the University’s safety, security, emergency management, and law enforcement programs. He is a member of Maryland Chiefs of Police Association, International Association of Collegiate Law Enforcement Administrators, Historically Black Colleges and Universities Law Enforcement Executives, and the Maryland Chapter of the National Association of Black Law Enforcement Executives.

Prior to his position at Morgan, Chief Wiggins spent 11 years with the City University of New York Public Safety department, ascending through the peace officer ranks to Deputy Director of Public Safety at the Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York City. During his tenure at The City University of New York, Chief Wiggins was a member of the University’s Special Assistance for Events Team, a special team trained to respond to emergencies throughout the university’s 23 campuses. He has served on campus committees for work place violence and threat assessment. During His 15 years in campus law enforcement, Chief Wiggins has supervised countless special events, concerts and managed an assortment of emergencies.

Chief Wiggins is a recent graduate of Towson University where he obtained a Masters Degree in Integrated Homeland Security Management and holds a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Security Assessment and Management.

Chief Wiggins has helped many agencies, with security assessments and the development of loss prevention programs. He speaks to local church and community youth groups about crime, drugs and gang violence.
Chief Wiggins currently resides in Harford County Maryland with his family.
